// THE LEGAL BITS

privacy & terms

the page nobody reads, written by someone who isn't a lawyer. read it anyway — you're about to pipe our scripts into your shell.

01the short version

crashmybox is a hobby site that serves command-line utilities. we try to collect as little about you as possible. we don’t sell your data, because we don’t have a sales team, or your data.

the one meaningful exception is analytics — see section 03.

02what the server logs

like virtually every web server, ours keeps standard access logs: your IP address, the page or command you requested, your browser’s user-agent, and a timestamp. these are used to keep the site running, debug problems, and stop abuse.

commands like /ip intentionally return your own public IP to you. we don’t store the results of commands you run, or tie them to your identity.

03analytics & cookies

we use Google Analytics to understand which commands people use and roughly where traffic comes from. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes some data (such as a truncated IP address and usage events) on our behalf, and may transfer it to Google.

where required by law (for example, visitors in the EU/UK), analytics only loads after you consent via our cookie banner, and you can decline or withdraw consent at any time. you can also block cookies in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

we don’t use analytics or advertising to personally identify you, and we don’t run third-party ad networks.

04data we do NOT collect

no accounts, no passwords (the /plesk-password gag returns a joke, not your real credentials), no payment info, and no selling or renting of any data to anyone.

05your rights

depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete data about you, and to object to certain processing. reach out via fjp.io and we’ll do our honest best to help with what little we hold.

06changes & contact

we may update this policy as the site evolves; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. questions or requests: get in touch at fjp.io.
